Fourteen performance indicators are being used to measure implementation of the Growth Plan’s policies. They are intended to provide useful information on how growth and development in the region are unfolding over time, and to inform reviews of the Growth Plan. As part of the process to develop the indicators, the ministry released proposed indicators in early 2014 and held consultations in the spring of 2014. Based on feedback from the consultations, changes and additions were made to the initial indicators.
The Growth Plan works together with a set of provincial planning initiatives to guide growth and development, support and promote economic prosperity, help communities achieve a high quality of life, and protect important areas of the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Just as the Growth Plan works in tandem with these other provincial planning initiatives, the performance indicators for the Growth Plan ( PDF 8 MB) are meant to be considered together with the performance indicators for the Greenbelt Plan and other indicators for the region.
